What do guests get to do with the dolphins (is touching allowed, etc.)?

During a trainer led program, participants will get to experience a hands-on encounter with one of our dolphins. Please see our pricing page for more detailed information on each program.

What happens if there is bad weather/rain/lightning during our program?

Marineland Dolphin Adventure runs our programs rain or shine.  We will only postpone our programs if we have a lightning strike within 5 miles of our facility.  If that happens, all guests are escorted to the nearest indoor location, and programs will resume as soon as the lightning passes.

If Marineland cannot complete the program by the end of the day due to lightning staying in the area, we will work with each group individually to offer the best solution for them.  We can reschedule, offer credit to rebook within 1 year, or if the program is canceled by Marineland Dolphin Adventure they may receive a full or partial refund based on what was completed. Please note that the ticketing fee cannot be refunded due to weather.

What should I bring with me to my encounter?

Guests must bring their own swimsuits and towels. We are an outdoor facility, so we also recommend water sunscreen, especially on hot days. Reef Safe sunscreen may be purchased in our gift shop. Changing facilities are available.

Can I wear jewelry during my encounter?

ALL jewelry must be removed prior to your encounter, including body jewelry. No surgical or permanent jewelry is allowed in the water.

Where do I go when I arrive?

All programs start at the Gift Shop with check-in. Please arrive 60 minutes prior to your program start time. (Trainer For a Day and Dolphin Designs program participants should arrive by 8:45AM)

Can I buy out a time slot to experience the encounter alone?

Guests may buy out a time slot by making special arrangements ahead of time. Please contact us at 407-563-4701, ext. 116, if you are interested in buying out an encounter slot.

Can I make an adjustment to my reservation time?

Yes. You can change to a new available date within 1 year of the original reservation.

What happens if I am late or cannot make it?

Programs cannot be stalled or stopped for late participants, so we encourage our guests to arrive at least 60 minutes prior to their chosen program reservation time. Guests that miss their program will be charged a rescheduling fee of $25 per participant and rescheduled to another available date within 1 year of the original reservation.

Are guests welcome to watch? Do they have to buy a ticket?

Any guest is welcome to watch the encounter with the purchase of a general admission ticket.

Can guests with special needs participate?

Yes; all reservations must be made ahead of time in order for our staff to make appropriate accommodations. Please call 407-563-4701, ext. 116, to make a reservation with special needs.

Can pregnant guests participate in an in-water dolphin program?

  • For safety reasons pregnant women should not participate in any in-water dolphin interactive programs. Please contact us by phone if you have any questions.

Is there a weight limit to the swim programs?

  • Yes, for animal safety, we have a weight limit of 250 lbs. for any of the programs that include rides with the dolphins (Swim Adventure or Royal Swim).  We do not have a limit for our dockside or shallow programs.

Are wetsuits provided?
